FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a process for the polymerization of ethylene and, optionally, one or more comonomers selected from the group consisting of α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acids, esters α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid, anhydrides α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and olefins, to obtain a polymer based on ethylene in a plant containing a polymerization reactor, having a reactor inlet and a reactor outlet, and containing: A. the reactor inlet side, located before the reactor inlet, and the outlet side of the reactor, which is located after the reactor outlet; and B. a recirculation connection scheme having an inlet communicating with the outlet side of the reactor of the plant, and an outlet communicating with the inlet side of the reactor installation, and having a fluid flow from the outlet side of the reactor to the recirculation connection scheme and from the recirculation connection scheme to the input side of the reactor installation; C. a valve located in the recirculation connection scheme or in a component that communicates with the outlet side of the reactor and the inlet of the recirculation connection scheme, the valve having a closed position and an open position; and D. a receiver for receiving fluid from the recirculation circuit through the valve when the valve is in the open position. Process contains a stage of polymerization, a stage of partial shutdown and the stages of pressure reduction in the reactor disclosed in claim 1, for the transition from the polymerization stage to the partial shutdown stage and pressure increase in the reactor to exit the partial shutdown stage and re-enter the polymerization stage. Method for producing a product downstream is also claimed, including a step of preparing an ethylene-based polymer by the above process, and further processing of an ethylene-based polymer to obtain a product downstream, and an installation for the polymerization of ethylene and, optionally, one or more comonomers.
EFFECT: improving the polymerization process of ethylene and, optionally, one or more comonomers, preventing the polymerization unit from completely shutting down, and at the same time complying with applicable regulations, such as national or regional environmental pollution regulations, and proposing improvements in terms of energy, material efficiency, and reduced downtime.
