FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of actinometry and concerns a method for measuring solar radiation characteristics. Method is based on measuring the maximum and minimum values of solar radiation using a sensor that has at least two measuring elements and a hemispherical masking element with transparent and areas that are opaque to solar radiation in such a way that at the time of measurement, regardless of the position of the Sun, at least one measuring element is completely open to direct solar radiation and measures the maximum value of solar radiation, and at least one measuring element is completely closed for direct solar radiation and measures the minimum value of solar radiation. Sun-opaque regions of the masking element occupy no more than 1/n, where (n ≥ 2), from the entire area of the hemispherical masking element, and the sensor is oriented in such a way that the areas of the masking element that are not transparent to solar radiation are located only on the side of the possible position of the Sun and had a minimum value of 1/n for a specific measurement period.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in the measurements accuracy.
