FIELD: meteorology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of meteorology and can be used to detect cumulus clouds. Essence: the total radiation is measured with an unshaded pyranometer. Then, using a 21-minute sliding window, the points for which the coefficient of variation exceeds the threshold value of 0.33 are determined. Cumulus clouds are determined when at least one 3-minute coefficient of variation for the analyzed point exceeds the threshold value equal to 0.33. EFFECT: improved detection accuracy.
