SUBSTANCE: invention relates to photodynamic compounds of formula (I): including pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. M in each case is independently selected from the group consisting of osmium, ruthenium, iron, cobalt, rhodium, iridium, nickel and platinum; X is selected from the group consisting of Cl-, PF6-, Br-, BF4-, ClO4-, CF3SO3- and SO4-2; n=0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5; q independently for each case is 0, 1 or 2; y independently for each case is 0, 1 or 2; z independently for each case is 1, 2 or 3. Values of Lig1, Lig2, Lig3 are given in the claims. Method of treating a disease associated with hyperproliferative cells, a method for destroying bacteria, and versions of compounds are also disclosed. Said photodynamic compounds can be activated by radiation to ensure the destruction of unwanted cells, such as hyperproliferative cells and bacteria cells.
EFFECT: metal-based coordination complexes as photodynamic compounds and use thereof are disclosed.
