FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biochemistry, in particular to a method of preservation and re-activation of living cells, involving use trehalose and protein TRET-1. Method involves injecting TRET-1 protein into living cells by expressing a genetic construct containing the TRET-1 gene of the Polypedilum vanderplanki insect, after introduction of TRET-1 protein into living cells if necessary checking the presence of protein in living cells directly, followed by delivery of trehalose in said living cells by adding trehalose into the surrounding medium. At the same time re-opening is performed by removing trehalose from living cells by replacing surrounding medium with trehalose on medium without trehalose.
EFFECT: invention enables effective use thereof for cell preservation in medicine, veterinary science, agriculture and industrial biotechnologies, including production of biotechnological products using known standard technical devices, equipment and materials.
