SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical technology. Optical transmission device comprising a port of an optical connector and a light emitter are proposed. Port of the optical connector is configured to be connected to the connector of an optical cable in a first orientation or a second orientation. Light emitter is configured to transmit an optical signal towards a first region of the connector, which reflects the optical signal to an optical transmission line of the optical cable when the connector is connected in the first orientation, and with the possibility of transmitting the optical signal towards a second region of the connector, which reflects the optical signal to the optical transmission line of the optical cable when the connector is connected in the second orientation different from the first orientation.
