SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vehicle with an engine, in particular to controlling the engagement of a starter motor used to start a vehicle engine. Disclosed is a method of controlling the engagement of starter motor 1001 for starting vehicle engine 1000, in which when a signal is detected on the need to restart engine 1000 during the engine off, the engagement of starter motor 1001 will be prohibited, if engine rpm is in preset limits, and engine rpm 1000 is reduced.
EFFECT: technical result is reduction of engine restart time.
