FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for hardening of self-balancing unicycle blades from titanium alloys. Method involves strengthening treatment with microspheres, polishing, ion cleaning and ion-implantation treatment of blades. Ion-implantation treatment of the surface layer is carried out with nitrogen ions in the mode of plasma-immersion ion implantation, rotating the self-balancing unicycle simultaneously relative to its centre in the plane perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, and relative to the axis formed by intersection of the plane passing through the implanted ions flow axis and the centre of the self-balancing unicycle. Rotation is performed at the speed providing for machining of whole working surface of self-balancing unicycle blades. Flow of implanted ions is directed to the treated self-balancing unicycle at least on one side from the treated self-balancing unicycle. Plasma-immersion ion implantation of blades is carried out at energy from 0.4 to 2.0 keV, current intensity from 0.3 to 2.5 mA/cm2, at current frequency of 80 to 90 kHz to obtain implanted layer depth of 1 to 8 mcm.
EFFECT: invention can be used in aircraft engine building and power turbine building.
