SUBSTANCE: method makes it possible to discharge exhaust gases from the main outlet branch pipe into a secondary outlet branch pipe containing rotary plates connected to the filtering material in the fixed housing. At that, the engine operation is controlled by the controller depending on the plates rotation frequency, wherein the plates rotation frequency is compared with the amount of soot deposited on the plates, and regeneration of plates is performed as reaction to plate rotation frequency exceeding threshold rotation frequency.

EFFECT: methods for controlling engine operation are provided.
