FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to internal combustion engines. Essence of inventions consists in that in one embodiment of the method of reducing toxicity of exhaust gases, the device contains a catalytic neutraliser and a filter. Passive regeneration of the filter and adjustment of the duration of active regeneration of the filter by means of a controller depending on the oxygen capacity of the device for reducing toxicity of the exhaust gases is carried out.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of engine and improved road properties of vehicle.
