SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to purification and production of gases. To obtain hydrogen sulphide H₂S is brought into contact with hydrogen and sulfur under conditions sufficient to obtain a feed stream containing 80 wt. % hydrogen sulphide and sulfur-containing impurities. For purification of the crude stream it is brought into contact with solid catalytic sorbent with removal of at least part of sulfur-containing impurities to obtain purified stream H₂S. Solid catalytic sorbent contains clay impregnated with alkali metal hydroxide or alkali-earth metal hydroxide activated carbon, aluminum oxide or any combination thereof.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and degree of purity of crude stream from sulfur-containing impurities.
