SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine and concerns a method for determining a prolonged rate of death, involving complex analysis of biological material taken from a corpse, including morphological, micro- and macroscopic examination, analysis of a sectional picture, histochemical examination. That is followed by a complex examination of a blood serum specimen taken from a femoral vein of a corpse no more than 35 hours from the moment of death, and analyzing parameters of oxidative modification of proteins, total protein and parameters of free radical activity of blood serum, wherein values of the oxidative modification of proteins are determined on a spectrophotometer at wavelengths of 270, 370, 430, 535 nm, parameters of free radical activity are determined from the maximum light intensity of the sample and a long rate of death according to the claimed formula is determined.

EFFECT: invention provides higher accuracy of the method by excluding the fact of subjectivity of the study and reducing the time of its carrying out.
