FIELD: antenna equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to antenna engineering, namely to spiral antennas operating in a continuous range of ultrahigh (UHF) and super-high (SHF) frequencies in antenna systems for various purposes, particularly in direction finding and tracking systems. Antenna comprises a combined two-start spiral consisting of connected flat and hemispherical spirals, dielectric housing accommodating matching balancing transformer and metal reflectors of flat and hemispherical spirals with rings installed on them from absorbing materials. On the reverse side of the reflector of the flat spiral there is a reverse ring of absorbing material, which is turned by the working surface to the reflector of the hemispherical spiral. According to the proposed technical solution inside the dielectric housing between the absorbing ring on the hemispherical spiral reflector and the reverse absorbing ring on the reverse side of the reflector of the flat spiral there is a ring of dielectric material. Ultra-wideband spiral antenna operates in continuous UHF and SHF with overlapping of 20:1. Oscillations of VSWR and CS are substantially smoothened, and the level of rear radiation is reduced approximately by half.
EFFECT: this allows expanding working range of a direction finder to the area of lower frequencies.
