FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed are methods and systems for continuous evaluation of temperature of a tip of a direct injection injector based on heat transfer to an injector from a cylinder caused by combustion, and heat transfer to an injector caused by a flow of cold fuel from the fuel rail. Temperature changes of the tip of the injector relative to the steady-state temperature are monitored when the injector of direct injection is switched off. At repeated switching, command is used to set updated duration of fuel injection pulse for direct injection injector to account for change in fuel density caused by temperature of injector tip, which enables to reduce occurrence of errors in air-fuel ratio, as well as reduce formation of injector deposits and longer injector service life.
EFFECT: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines fuel supply systems.
