FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to cardiovascular surgery, and can be used for prediction of development of postoperative sterno-mediastinitis. Risk factors are determined: sex, age, presence of obesity, diabetes mellitus. Assess risk factors in scores. Total score is derived. If total score is +7 and more, development of postoperative sterno-mediastinitisis predicted.
EFFECT: method enables predicting development of postoperative sterno-mediastinitis before surgical intervention, timely taking preventive measures and improving treatment results by evaluating a complex of the most significant risk factors.
