SUBSTANCE: button-design tire has spikes inserted in spike holes so that their rod section is protruded from tread surface. Rubber for formation of cover rubber layer and rubber for formation of rubber layer of tread base satisfy following estimating formula (1): 0.5 ≤ depth of spike wear / depth of rubber wear of coating rubber layer = k × (modulus of elasticity of rubber of rubber base layer at room temperature × modulus of elasticity of rubber of coating rubber layer at room temperature) ≤ 1.5, (1), where "spike wear depth" = "spike height before wear" – "spike height after wear", "rubber coating layer wear depth" = "tread layer thickness before wear" – "tread layer thickness after wear", and k is constant.

EFFECT: improved operational characteristics of the edge of the spikes and prevention of loss of spikes for a long period of time.
