FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pathomorphology, and can be used for determining the length of physiologically occurring pregnancy in I trimester. For this purpose, fragments of scraping from the uterine cavity are fixed in neutral 10 % formalin for 24–48 hours at room temperature. Then it is dehydrated in alcohols of ascending concentration, poured into paraffin with further preparation of sections with thickness of 4–5 mcm, which are placed on a slide and stained with haematoxylin and eosin. Obtained preparations are placed on an object table of the light microscope and sections containing a compact layer of the gravidar endometrium are selected. Using a video camera mounted on a light microscope, the visible field of vision is displayed on a computer screen. Then, 30 or more decidual cells and areas of their nuclei are determined morphometrically in 3 or more fields of vision of one or more preparations. Then average values of cell area and area of nucleus are determined, and discriminant function (X) is calculated by formula: X=K+K1×av.Sc-K2× av.Sn, where X is gestational age in obstetric weeks; K is a coefficient equal to 3.414; K1 is coefficient equal to 0.019; av.Sc is average cell area in mcm; K2 – coefficient equal to 0.008; av.Sn is the average area of the nucleus in mcm.
EFFECT: invention provides the authenticity and objectivity of the morphological conclusion on the length of physiologically occurring pregnancy in the first trimester in obstetric weeks.
