FIELD: electrical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: field of application: electrical equipment. Electrical system comprises primary device (100) and secondary device (102), wherein primary device comprises at least three electrical contacts (110), and secondary device comprises several electrical contacts (130) associated with different functions; and wherein electrical contacts on secondary device can come into contact with primary device electrical contacts in several orientations; wherein primary device comprises: voltage source (106); and controller (108); wherein each electrical contact in primary device comprises high voltage side switch connected therewith, connected between contact and voltage source, and low voltage side switch connected thereto, located between contact and electrical grounding; wherein controller is connected to each of switches and is configured to series-close a pair of switches during orientation operation for connection of voltage source to secondary device; each pair of switches comprising a high voltage side switch connected to one of the contacts and a low voltage side switch connected to the other of the contacts; and is configured to record voltage difference between contacts associated with several pairs of switches and determine the orientation of the secondary device relative to the primary device based on the recorded voltage differences.
EFFECT: possibility of correct alignment of power contacts and contacts for data on two devices without the need to use mechanical means to force two devices to one specific orientation relative to each other.
