SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to electrical systems for aerosol-generating articles. Electrical system for supplying power to a portable aerosol-generating device comprises a primary device and a secondary device. Primary device comprises a source of electrical energy, a cavity configured to receive a secondary device, at least one electrical contact in the cavity configured to contact a corresponding contact on the secondary device, when secondary device is in said cavity, and cover. At that, at least one electric contact is electrically connected to the above source of electric energy. Cover is movable between a first position to hold the secondary device in contact with at least one electrical contact and a second position in which the secondary device freely moves from the contact with said at least one electrical contact. Primary device is made with possibility in charging mode to provide energy from electric power source to secondary device by method suitable for secondary device power supply recharging, wherein the charging mode is operated only when the secondary device is in the said cavity of the primary device, and the cover is in the first position.
