FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of copolymerising ethylene and a catalyst composition for said method. Method for polymerisation of olefins for producing a polyolefin polymer with multimodal distribution of composition involves bringing ethylene and comonomer into contact with a catalyst system, where the catalyst system comprises a first catalyst compound and a second catalyst compound, having a common substrate, forming a catalyst system on a common substrate, where the value of the comonomer/ethylene incorporation ratio for the second catalyst compound is less than about 0.8 times greater than the comonomer/ethylene incorporation ratio for the first catalyst compound, wherein first catalytic compound contains following formula: (C5HaR1b)(C5HcR2d)HfX2, where radicals are disclosed in the claim; and the second catalyst compound contains the following formula:
where radicals are disclosed in the claim.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain copolymers of polyethylene having a wide orthogonal distribution of composition in controlled conditions.
