FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: catalyst composition for olefin polymerisation contains a first catalyst compound and a second catalyst compound, having a common substrate, forming a catalyst system on a common substrate, wherein first catalytic compound contains following formula: (C₅H_aR¹_b)(C₅H_cR²_d)HfX₂, where each R¹ and R² independently represents H or an alkyl group; a and c ≥3; a+b=c+d=5; at least one R¹ and at least one R² is an alkyl group; and each X independently represents an alkyl group; and the second catalyst compound contains the following formula:

where each R^3a is H, where each R³ is an alkyl group; and each X is C₁-C₁₂-alkyl group; and either first catalytic compound, or second catalytic compound is applied on common substrate in form of solution of balancing catalyst.

EFFECT: technical result is providing an alternative or additional catalyst for producing copolymers of polyethylene, having a wide orthogonal distribution of composition (BOCD).
