FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, more specifically to oncology, and concerns methods for predicting lymphogenic metastasis in rectal adenocarcinoma. Method includes macroscopic examination of primary tumor tissues, resection lines and all lymph nodes removed during operation at light-optical level, histological type of a rectal tumor is established, a parenchymal component is evaluated in detail, in which availability of various types of structures is determined: glandular, cribriform and discrete groups of tumor cells. That is followed by counting the number of different types of structures in the parenchymal tissue component of the new growth, calculating the value of the regression equation Y and determining the probability of developing lymphogenic metastases P by formula: P=eY/(1+eY), where e is a mathematical constant equal to 2.72, and with probability P≥50 % is high, and if P<50 %, a low risk of developing lymphogenic metastases is stated.

EFFECT: method provides more accurate assessment of risk of lymphogenic metastases in rectal adenocarcinoma.
