FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely, to treatment of crystallized metal by pressure, in particular, to production of ingots from deformed aluminum alloys. Method of producing ingots from deformed aluminum alloys involves preparing a melt superheated above liquidus temperature for 150–200 °C, pouring melt into a mold and pressurized with a plunger using a shrinkage compensator, wherein the melt with a metered dose is poured into pre-filled with an inert gas and heated to 200–250 °C a mould box, mould box is closed with cover, in hole of which is installed with tight fit shrinkage compensator, made in the form of cylindrical billet from alloy of same chemical composition as processed alloy and having volume of not less than 120–130 cm3 at 1 m3 liquid metal, which is then continuously supplied to liquid metal by means of pressing plunger to the end of crystallization with speed and under pressure, which provide compression of liquid metal by 12–13 % of total volume, wherein the pressure applied on the melt is increased as the crystallization progresses to level of 400–450 MPa.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining ingots without segregation and defects of gas-shrinkage origin, with higher physical and mechanical properties.
