SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system and method for controlling suspension of a vehicle. Vehicle suspension control system comprises: sensor, a processor programmed to determine the location of the vehicle when the first feature of the road surface is detected and to control the adjustable suspension system by applying the suspension profile to the adjustable suspension system before the vehicle reaches the second road surface feature. Vehicle suspension system control method comprises steps of: generating a motion history map which identifies a plurality of road surface features, determining the location of the vehicle when the first road surface feature is detected, determining location of second feature of road surface from traffic history map when first feature of road surface is detected and controlling suspension system of vehicle by applying suspension profile to vehicle suspension system, wherein the suspension profile is associated with the second road surface feature.
EFFECT: adjustment of suspension is achieved based on data on previous trips along the same route.
