FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method for engine comprises the following steps. At cold start of engine (100) control of valve counter (164) position against the required counter pressure of exhaust gases. Determination of actual counter pressure of exhaust gases upstream of counter pressure valve. Required amount of secondary air is fed into outlet channel (145) upstream of catalytic neutraliser (170) based on actual exhaust pressure back pressure. Adjustment of ignition delay value based on actual counter pressure of exhaust gases. Increased amount of injected fuel based on actual exhaust pressure back pressure. Invention discloses versions of described method for engine. Technical result consists in reduction of toxic emissions at cold start of engine due to accelerated activation of catalytic neutraliser.
EFFECT: accelerated activation of the catalytic neutraliser is achieved by controlling the counter pressure valve to increase the counter pressure of exhaust gases and to feed secondary air into the outlet channel upstream of the catalytic neutraliser.
