SUBSTANCE: invention relates to transport engineering, particularly, to engine control methods. Disclosed are methods and systems for controlling temperature of catalytic neutralizer of waste gases by means of water injection during cold start of engine. In one example, method may include, during cold start of engine, water injection into engine inlet depending on temperature of catalytic converter of exhaust gases and accumulation of water molecules inside catalytic neutralizer of exhaust gases for generation of heat inside catalytic neutralizer of exhaust gases.
EFFECT: technical result is faster heating of catalytic converter of exhaust gases, thereby reducing time required for activation of catalytic neutraliser.
