FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation system. Method for engine (10) consists in the fact that engine operation is controlled based on final estimation of gas flow parameter. Final evaluation of the gas flow parameter depends both on the first gas flow parameter estimated by the first sensor, and on the second gas flow parameter estimated by the second sensor located at a distance from the first sensor in the gas channel of engine (10). Final estimation of gas flow parameter also depends on values of accuracy of first and second parameters of gas flow, wherein final estimate of gas flow parameter is final estimate of exhaust gas recirculation flow (EGR). Control of engine (10) operation includes control of EGR valve (121) by final evaluation of EGR flow. Final estimate of the flow of the EGR is determined as the first flow of the EGR estimated by the differential pressure sensor (125) between the input and output of EGR valve (121) and the second EGR flow estimated by the oxygen inlet sensor (168). Final estimate of the EGR flow is also determined by the accuracy values of both the first and the second EGR flows. Method for engine and engine system are disclosed.
EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of determining flow of EGR.
