SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the internal combustion engines. Method for engine (10) consists in that during operation with supercharging exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is adjusted based on first output signal and second output signal. First output signal is supplied from first sensor (172) of oxygen content, which is located in inlet channel (149) and exposed to the EGR gases. Second output signal is supplied from second sensor (175) of oxygen content which is not exposed to EGR gases, but is exposed to gases of forced crankcase ventilation and blowdown flow. Invention discloses engine system.

EFFECT: technical result is higher accuracy of estimating EGR.
