In order to expand the field of using the method by providing evaluation of the stubble residues in the soil process in the method of determining the number of objects on a flat surface, including determination of the number of objects on a flat surface, its computer processing, selecting a matrix of a flat surface of one colour and one object in form of a matrix in the same colour, determining the area of the object in pixels and the total area of all objects on the flat surface, at that, as the object used is the number of stubble residues on the flat soil surface, for the extraction of which the frame with the aspect ratio of 2: 3 is used, then, a flat surface of the soil selected with the frame is photographed with crop residues after their sealing in the soil and for computer processing of the obtained image, after digitizing the image, selecting a matrix in blue and determining the scale factor for correlation of the flat soil surface dimensions, the stubble residues, expressed in millimetres, with the flat surface matrix and one object, expressed in pixels, and from the ratio of the number of crop residues on the flat surface before and after their sealing into the soil, the degree of its quality is determined.
