SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to capsule (10) for preparation of a beverage in brewing machine (20), wherein the capsule has cup (11) of the capsule filled with an extractable material, with a substantially square base (12) and lid (16) of the capsule closing cup (11) of capsule, wherein said capsule is characterized by that it comprises at least one first optically readable code (50) on base (12) of capsule cup(11), which has a two-dimensional arrangement of several code elements (52, 53), wherein first code (50) is divided into uniform imaginary arrangement of code fields (61, 62, 63, 64), combined at least in pairs to form code groups (60), wherein in code group (60) only one code field (61, 62, 63, 64) comprises code element (52, 53). Invention also relates to a system having capsule (10) and a corresponding brewing machine (20), and to a method for identifying such capsule (10).
