FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely traumatology-orthopedics, and can be used for treating rib fractures in patients with concomitant osteoporosis. Soft tissues are incised to access a rib with a fracture; bone fragments are repositioned and placed into an anatomically correct position. End plate is placed on the rib. Bone plate is fixed with bone screws by screwing the bone screws in the rib. Before bone fragments reduction, the intramedullary canal is pre-cleared in the bone fragments. Bone cement is introduced into intramedullary canal, and bone fragments are repositioned. Bone plate is placed on a rib, fixed with bone screws, screwing bone screws in a rib, passing them through bone cement.
EFFECT: method provides stable fixation of the bone fragments of the rib with the anatomical plate by screwing through the bone cement.
