FIELD: microbiology; food industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiological and food industry. Cell suspension of microalgae of Chlorella genus is concentrated in alkaline medium with 0.1 n NaOH at pH 11–12. Obtained suspension is filtered, obtained raw biomass is dehydrated by air drying at 25–35 °C. Mechanical activation of biomass is carried out by disintegration of cell membrane by treatment in microwave field with power of 120 W at atmospheric pressure for 10 minutes at temperature of 50–60 °C. Produced pigment complex is extracted from dry biomass by step maceration with ultrasound of power 30–40 kHz at temperature 30–40 °C with 96 % ethyl alcohol. Solvent is evaporated from the obtained liquid extract under vacuum at 1–5 kPa at temperature of 30–40 °C.

EFFECT: invention provides an environmentally safe and efficient method of extracting pigments from the biomass of unicellular algae of Chlorella genus.
