SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biotechnology. A method for the extraction of pigments from the cells of the microalgae Tetraselmis viridis is proposed, including the disintegration of raw biomass using an abrasive substance - quartz sand; extraction of the pigment complex with 100% acetone in a water bath at 40-50°C, followed by centrifugation of the extract to separate the soluble part containing the pigment complex. The insoluble part is subjected to repeated extraction and separation until the precipitate and supernatant are completely discolored.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the yield of pigments from the raw biomass of the unicellular alga Tetraselmis viridis while reducing the time and labor intensity of the process.
