SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Video encoder for encoding with prediction of video stream of successive frames in accordance with motion compensation to encoded bit video stream comprises: a frame buffer configured to store at least one video stream reference frame, an inter prediction module configured to generate a prediction block of the current block of the current frame from the reference block of the reference frame, a tunable sharpening filter configured for tunable prediction filtering and an encoding module configured to generate an encoded bit stream, wherein the encoding module is configured to add information on the sharpening filter to the encoded bit stream.
EFFECT: improved prediction quality by reduction of reference frame quantization artifacts.
