SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering for image processing, in particular, to colour scheduling for controlled conversion between colour representations of various devices, for example, image scanner, digital camera, computer monitors, printers and corresponding carriers. Said technical result is achieved due to that storage device (100; 400; 604) contains compressed data structure (102; 402; 602) for construction of one-dimensional colour conversion table for printer, and data structure contains: quantised coefficients obtained from compression of difference table (104; 404; 616), including a plurality of difference nodes, in which each difference node represents a value to be combined with the corresponding node of the reference table,

wherein the quantised coefficients are used to generate the reconstructed difference table; residual table (106; 408; 618), including a plurality of residue units, in which each residual unit should be combined with the corresponding merging unit of the reconstructed difference table and the reference table; and table (410) for assigning residual bits, used to decode residue table (408).

EFFECT: technical result is providing compatibility of colour space for source and target device.
