FIELD: power engineering; means of ensuring safety.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a means of ensuring safety of nuclear power plants (NPP) and can be used in severe accidents leading to core meltdown, destruction of the housing of a nuclear reactor and output of melt into space of a sealed shell of a nuclear power plant. A device for localization of melt of the nuclear reactor core includes use of a lower support consisting of radial supports of the horizontal embedded plate and radial supports installed in the lower part of the melt trap body, which are connected to each other by means of retainers. At that, radial supports and retainers have holes of oval shape.
EFFECT: technical result of disclosed invention consists in improvement of reliability of device for localization of melt of nuclear reactor core due to provision of free radial thermal expansion of melt trap body bottom.
