CATENARY LINE SUPPORT ON SLOPE AND DECLIVITY ERECTED ON HEAVING SOILS Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC E02D27/42

Abstract RU 2697755 C1

FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to construction and operation of supports of railway contact system on unfavorable and especially unfavorable sections, on slopes, declivity and at close location of support to slope of road bed in permafrost conditions and deep seasonal freezing of heaving soils. Overhead catenary line support includes single bored pile-RIT with camouflage widening of its lower end into permafrost or thawed soils, with depth of not less than 6 m and pile shaft diameter of 450 mm, connected above earth bed with reinforced concrete support of conical shape by means of platform joint on welding, consisting of installed on the head of pile metal embedded parts in form of ring of pipe with diameter of 420 mm, with thickness of not less than 10 mm and height of not less than 200 mm, which is welded by metal rods of design diameter along pile length, and under sole of reinforced concrete support in form of plate of annular cross-section with thickness of not less than 12 mm, which coincides in size with annular section of support, which is welded by metal rods of longitudinal reinforcement of support in factory conditions, wherein parts and welded horizontal joint have anticorrosion coating. Support is erected on a slope and declivity on heaving soils. In order to ensure its stability against displacement from normal frost heeling forces acting on its side surface in direction of slope base, provided is a monolithic reinforced concrete buttress-console of trapezoidal shape at the level of a slope from its lower side with a horizontal bottom of a defined area, combined with a pile shaft, receiving pressure from the forces of frost heaving and creating a moment relative to the axis of the pile at the level of the slope surface in the opposite direction, equal to the moment from normal forces of frost freezing on side surface of pile, acting in direction of slope base, as shown in Fig. 2. Stability of the pile against buckling is determined with due allowance for normal force of frost-free heaving (Nz), which acts on butt of butt-arm console as per said relationship.

EFFECT: providing stability of a head of a bored pile on slopes, slopes and at close location of a support to a slope of an earthen cloth from its shift towards the base of a slope from normal forces of frost heave acting on a side surface of a pile in direction of a slope base.
