SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely nephrology, dietology, namely to a method for screening protein-energy malnutrition in a patient receiving treatment with programmed hemodialysis. That is ensured by measuring blood serum albumin and taking into account the length of hemodialysis therapy, as well as determining the absolute number of blood serum lymphocytes and by asking the patient to determine the behavior of appetite changes in last 4 weeks, the presence and severity of gastrointestinal symptoms, the nature of motor activity, each index is evaluated in points according to point score system and if total score is more than 5 high risk of PEM is detected.

EFFECT: invention provides high sensitivity and specificity of PEM screening in a patient receiving treatment with program HD, and enables high-effective detection of patients in need of detailed diagnosis of PEM.
