METHOD FOR PREDICTING SARCOPENIA IN PATIENTS RECEIVING CHRONIC HEMODIALYSIS TREATMENT Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B5/107 A61B5/22 G01N33/74

Abstract RU 2811653 C1

FIELD: medicine; gerontology; nephrology; therapy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict sarcopenia in patients receiving treatment with chronic hemodialysis. Hand strength is assessed based on the results of dynamometry, testosterone levels, body mass index according to Quetelet's formula, and the level of physical performance is assessed according to the sum of points of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Based on the obtained indicators, the probability of sarcopenia (p) is determined using a given formula. If the indicator is less than or equal to 0.5, the absence of sarcopenia in the patient is predicted; if p is greater than 0.5, the presence of sarcopenia is predicted.

EFFECT: method allows for early detection of the disease, earlier initiation of preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitation measures by assessing the totality of the most significant indicators.
