FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to apparatus for cutting and laying sticks for use in a machine for assembling articles of the tobacco industry. Apparatus comprises a first cutting mechanism for cutting a quadrangle stick into first and second double-pointed axes. Each stick of double length contains appropriate ends. Positioning mechanism is designed to move at least one of the first and second double-rod sticks so that these rods are moved from the first configuration, in which they are set along the axis, into the second configuration, in which the first and second double-rod sticks are brought out from the position set along the axis, their axes are parallel and at a distance from each other, and the ends of these first and second double-rod sticks are exposed in essence in line relative to each other.
EFFECT: disclosed is a method of cutting and laying sticks for assembling an article of the tobacco industry and a method of assembling an article of the tobacco industry.
