SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in internal combustion engines (ICE). Disclosed is an ICE with inlet path (25), by means of which to combustion unit (11), in particular to a cylinder-piston unit of an internal combustion engine (1), gas can be supplied, in particular a gas mixture of combustible gas/air/exhaust gas, and with exhaust gas recirculation (2), by means of which exhaust gas of combustion unit (11) can be supplied to gas supplied to combustion unit (11) in zone (18) of blending of exhaust gas. In inlet path (25) upstream of combustion unit (11) and downstream of zone (18) of blending of exhaust gas there is at least one measuring device (22, 27), by means of which mass flow of gas can be determined, in particular mass flow of combustible gas/air/exhaust gas, and gas temperature, in particular temperature of combustible gas/air/exhaust gas. According to the invention, in order to determine returned mass flow (14) of exhaust gas and/or fed to combustion unit (11) of mass air flow, in addition to measuring device (22, 27), both in exhaust gas recirculation (2) and in inlet path (25), respectively, upstream of zone (18) of blending of exhaust gas there is at least one temperature sensor (29, 31).
EFFECT: disclosed an internal combustion engine, in particular a gas engine, for a vehicle, in particular for an industrial vehicle.
