FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: use: for suppression of mechanical instabilities of aluminum alloy B95pch. Summary of invention consists in using installation of an acoustic emission sensor near a potentially hazardous section (voltage concentrator) of a product or structure, deformation is performed with a stretching load until the first burst of acoustic emission appears, signaling the appearance in the material of a localized deformation band – a precursor of the development of macroscopic mechanical instability, at that, said acoustic signal is used to launch power device that generates compression pulse in material to suppress mechanical instability.
EFFECT: enabling suppression of deformation strips as precursors of destruction of aluminum alloy by means of a power device which generates a compression pulse at the moment of the deformation strip initiation, which is detected from the characteristic signal of acoustic emission.
