FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: used to study the volume of microcirculatory blood flow in the area of the macula and optic disc (OD). To study the volume of microcirculatory blood flow in the area of the macula and OD, OCT angiography (OCTA) and quantitative voxel-wise assessment of volumetric blood flow are performed. Additionally, optical coherence tomography (OCT) of the macula and OD region is performed. Based on two-dimensional OCTA scans, median filtering of scan images in a three-dimensional study area is performed. The resulting OCTA images are superimposed on the OCT image of the macula or OD area. The spatial arrangement of large blood vessels is distinguished. A quantitative assessment of volumetric blood flow is carried out separately for large blood vessels and for the microvasculature.
EFFECT: improving the accuracy of quantitative analysis of volumetric blood flow in the area of the macula and OD by reducing high-frequency artifacts and noise using filtering in the three-dimensional study area.
