FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composite materials (CM) based on high-molecular compounds and to a method for production thereof. Disclosed is a method for producing CM based on UHMWPE polymerisation of ethylene on the surface of filler particles in the presence of a catalyst immobilized thereon, consisting of a transition metal compound VCl4 and an organoaluminium compound Al(i-Bu)3. Filler used is particles of powdered filler of nano- or micro-size or mixture thereof, which are pre-evacuated while heated in a small preparatory reactor, cooled to room temperature, a hydrocarbon solvent is added, obtained suspension is treated with ultrasound, VCl4 is added in amount of 10-5–10-3 g per 1 g of filler, without stopping treatment with ultrasound, feeding ethylene to excess pressure of 0.1–0.4 atm., after 15–30 minutes, while stirring with ultrasound, adding Al(i-Bu)3. Then reaction mixture is diluted with hydrocarbon solvent with Al(i-Bu)3 pre-added thereto, and transferred under pressure of inert gas into main polymerisation reactor, involves intense stirring, feeding ethylene to excess pressure of 1–9 atm., increasing temperature to 40–60 °C and ethylene is polymerised on surface of filler particles. Filler particle size range is 10-8–10-3 m.
EFFECT: disclosed method provides CM (versions) based on UHMWPE, containing as filler nanoparticles of molybdenum disulphide and microparticles of schungite, having improved deformation-strength characteristics and high wear resistance.
