BACTERIAL INACTIVATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61N1/04 A61N1/30 A61N1/32 C12N13/00

Abstract RU 2699278 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical equipment. Device for electroporation of bacterial cells present on human skin stratum corneum surface comprises electrodes arranged with clearance from said surface, a spacer for spacing of electrodes from the surface of the stratum corneum and a generator for regulation and supply of a given voltage to the electrodes for creation of an electric field with intensity of 10–50 kV/cm on the above surface for inactivation of bacterial cells. Electrodes are designed so that the electric field intensity decreases depending on the depth of penetration into the cornea layer from the said surface to the value less than 3 kV/cm at depth of 5 micron. During use, the electric field will have sufficient intensity to inactivate the bacteria cells present on the stratum corneum, but at the same time the electric field will not be strong enough to affect live skin cells in the epidermis below the stratum corneum.

EFFECT: enabling electroporation of bacteria on the skin surface in order to inactivate these bacteria without damaging or causing irritation of living skin cells located at the interface with the cornea and epidermis or in the epidermis.
