SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of tracking objects and an object tracking device. Result is achieved by the fact that if several objects detected by object sensor (10) enter hidden area calculated by hidden areas calculation module (32), module (33) for estimating positional interrelation estimates positional relationship between several objects in concealed area based on information on each of several objects and lanes and routes, to which each of several objects can change its courses and which are calculated by module (34) for calculating routes. When objects leave the hidden area, identification numbers assignment module (35) determines identification information relative to each object based on the positional relationship estimated by the positional relationship estimator module (33).

EFFECT: technical result is a device for tracking objects, which, even if several objects enter a hidden area and temporarily disappear, prevention of assignment to each object of incorrect identification information, which differs from information, which is assigned to the object before the object is hidden.
