SUBSTANCE: invention relates to information transmission systems. Technical result of the proposed technical solution is achieved due to that in the transmitter of the information transmission system generate the spread spectrum reference sequences in the frequency subbands of the broadband channel, and then formed spreading reference sequences are combined with information part of transmitted symbol. At the receiving side of the information transmission system, reference sequences are formed for the expected range of Doppler scaling of the received reference sequence with a spread spectrum, coherent detection of reference sequences in the received signal is carried out.

EFFECT: high accuracy of estimating time of arrival and a coefficient of Doppler zooming for information symbols in a data transmission system in broadband hydroacoustic channels with a short coherence interval and/or high frequency selectivity, which increases reliability of communication, as well as wider range of application conditions for hydroacoustic communication systems.
