SUBSTANCE: described is a beverage preparation device using capsules (2) containing a food product containing extraction unit (3), in which an opening extraction chamber (4) is formed, supply section (9) for capsule (2), feed channel (10) for capsule (2) in device (1) from feed section (9) and at least one image production device (12) operating in visible light range, located along feed channel (10) at external side of extraction chamber (4), and made during use, when capsule (2) is located in area (13) of image capturing, located along channel (10) of supply, with possibility of capturing images of at least identification section (14) of capsule (2), on which graphical element (15) is located and is visible, image production device (12), electronic processor (20) is connected to device (12) for obtaining an image and is programmed for selective resolution or non-resolution of beverage preparation by performing the following operation steps based on comparison between the first image detected by image obtaining device (12), and one or more reference images stored in device (1).
