FIELD: environmental protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental protection and can be used in disposal of industrial and domestic wastes in dumps. Organic and inorganic wastes are arranged in the form of alternating layers of mixture of wastes with neutral filler. Compressed municipal waste mixture is laid with a layer two meters high and filled with 25 cm high layer of limestone screenings containing 91 % calcium carbonate. It is maintained for 6 months, after which the procedure is repeated till formation of 6-7 layers. Biogas is sampled through 5, 10 and 15 meter deep drain wells in different parts of polygon confined space. Biogas formation in layers takes place by type of solid-phase fermentation with clear biogeochemical zonation, depending on depth of horizon, in which both quantitative and qualitative composition of microorganisms oxidising and using methane contained in biogas is changed as carbon source.
EFFECT: reduction of methane release into environment is provided.
