FIELD: construction; removal and processing of solid wastes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to facilities improving quality of vital activity of the population by eliminating negative effect of solid municipal waste (SMW) polygons on environment. When constructing a new polygon on the slopes along the perimeter of the waste pyramid at distance of 2–4 meters from the edge, annular perforated drains are laid in several tiers, which are independently connected to the landfill gas recycling or processing system. At the last stage of the polygon operation, at its filling more than 50 % of the design volume, under the first tier of annular drains through distance of 20–50 meters there installed are vertical perforated wells with length from 3 to 6 meters, gas-dynamically connecting them with annular horizontal perforated drain through a tee coupling. If the distance between the sides of the ring of the first tier is 120 meters and the height of the pyramid of accumulated wastes is more than 10 meters, transverse horizontal drains with vertical mini-wells are installed at the same level.

EFFECT: reduced harmful effect of SMW polygon on environment.
